The Kissing Booth

Nova was holding a school carnival to allow parents to meet each other, and to function as a small fundraiser. The Primarchs weren't sure what the fundraiser part was for, but they weren't worried about that.
The thing that they were worried about was that they had to help put on various events throughout the evening. Sanguinius was especially worrying about it; he had been signed up for something called a kissing booth. He wasn't alone, Fulgrim, Leman, and Vulkan were also taking turns. However, they didn't seem quite as uncomfortable about it.
"It'll be alright," Horus said, trying to encourage Sanguinius. He had been assigned to help with a raffle that was going to be taking place that evening.
"I don't know," Sanguinius said. "I find it very awkward when people ogle over me. That's a lot of what is going to happen when I take my turn in the kissing booth."
"You are one of the most loved of all of us," Horus said. "It's something you're going to have to get used to."
"I don't want to though," Sanguinius said. "I want people to be able to work with me, not always be in awe of me."
"That makes sense," Horus admitted. "I don't want people always in awe of me either."
"Hopefully it won't be too bad," Sanguinius said.
They told the Emperor about the school carnival when they got home.  Leman looked very excited about his assignment to the kissing booth.
"You need to give proper kisses, Leman," the Emperor said, noting Leman's excitement. "No licking people."
"Yes, Allfather," Leman said, his excitement dying off a bit. The other Primarchs giggled a bit, knowing that had been Leman's plan all along.

The evening of the carnival arrived and most of the Primarchs were excited about it. Sanguinius had come around to the idea of the kissing booth, mostly. Rogal had built the booth itself, which was the main way that he and Perturabo and both participated in the carnival. Perturabo had built a few of the other booths that had activities at them.
Fulgrim had the first turn in the kissing booth. They were going in number order, as was typical for them. It helped them make sure that everyone had been accounted for. This meant that Sanguinius had the third turn at the kissing booth, after Leman.
Sanguinius entered the booth for his assigned turn, Leman wished him luck as they passed. He was slightly disappointed to find the chair in the booth was one of the standard classroom chairs. Mamzel Araethea was waiting to give him some instructions.
"I know that you prefer to sit with the chair backwards," she said. "However, for this we need you to sit in the chair the normal way. We got a chair for larger students because of your wings."
"Thank you, Mamzel Araetha," Sanguinius said. He sat in with the classroom chairs backwards so that he didn't have to fit his wings through the slots on the back of the chairs. Having a larger chair would be helpful, but he would need to be careful when he stood up.
He sat in the chair and was instantly faced with a large crowd of people. To his surprise there were men in the line as well, which made him more uncomfortable with his situation.
There were a few people who thought they were sneaky and went back through the line. He had been told that he was only supposed to give people one kiss, and then they couldn't come through the line again. Sanguinius felt a little bad for turning them away, but rules were rules.
There were some people who got around the rule by going through again after the Primarchs rotated out. Sanguinius didn't have anything against that, as it wasn't against the rules. Also the Emperor was one of the people gaming the system that way.
Konrad snuck into the kissing booth, just before Vulkan was supposed to relieve Sanguinius. He crept up on his brother, crawling under the chair to get closer. He grabbed Sanguinius's leg, causing his winged brother to leap up. Sanguinius's wings snagged on the back of the chair.
"Konrad!" Sanguinius said angrily.
"Are you alright?" Konrad asked, realizing that Sanguinius had caught his wings on the chair.
"Yes," Sanguinius said, not mollified by the question.
"It was funny though," Konrad said defensively.
"It wasn't appropriate for tonight," the Emperor said, he had been near the kissing booth (not in line) when Konrad pulled his prank.
"Sorry, Father," Konrad said. "Sorry, Sanguinius."
Vulkan showed up at that moment. Konrad helped Sanguinius get his wings unstuck from the chair. Sanguinius was very happy to be done with the kissing booth. He had been more interested in the different parts of the carnival, such as the cake walk. There didn't seem to be cake on the floor, so that didn't make as much sense to him.
"It's apparently like musical chairs," the Lion said. He was one of the Primarchs helping with the cake walk. "It doesn't make much sense to me either."
"Interesting," Sanguinius said and moved on.
The raffle wasn't very exciting, Horus was mostly stuck at a table encouraging adults to buy raffle tickets. The prize would be drawn at the end of the evening. The evening finally drew to a close and the raffle was drawn. A mother of a student the Primarchs didn't know won the drawing.
"Well, that wasn't too terrible," Fulgrim said as they headed back to the Palace after helping to clean up.
"No, not really," Sangiunius agreed. He had found that experience wasn't as bad as he had thought it would be.
"I liked being in the kissing booth," Vulkan said. "It was nice to see so many parents."
"It was cool to see the adult influences on some of our peers," Magnus said. The other Primarchs agreed.

War Games: Chapter One- Setting the Defense

Hello! It's been a bit, hasn't it? This story is a bit different than normal, as this is an attempt at actual chapter structure. For reference, the Pokemon story was actually written as one giant thing, then I split it up into chunks. Just a quick thing about some OCs in this story. There are lady Custodians, though this is the first time it's ever come up. There's some other familiar faces. Hope you enjoy!   "This is so exciting!" Angron said as they saw the assembled fleets. "What do you think, Lorgar?" "It is impressive," Lorgar said after a moment. "There's a lot of strength out there. I wasn't expecting Father to have fleets this size for our first war games." "Soo pretty!" Fulgrim said as the others started to crowd around the view ports. "Lorgar's right," Ferrus said. "It's a lot more firepower than I was expecting. Especially since we're being pitted against each other...

War Games: Chapter 3- The Finer Points of Void Warfare

"I thought it was Jaghatai that did things to his ships to make them faster," Alpharius grumbled. Ingo Pech gave him an amused look. The space marine had only just arrived on the bridge as they were engaging the Raven Guard. Mathias Herzog would be with the initiates while the fight was happening. "I didn't know that meant he had a monopoly on it," Pech answered. "I guess not," Alpharius chuckled. "And I can see a bit why Konrad envies Corvus so much. He'd love to have the ability to do this with the Night Lords." "He'd have to be sterner with that rabble to make them work like the Raven Guard," Harrowmaster Armillus Dynat said. "How Konrad manages his people is his business," Alpharius said. "But we do need to do something about how Corvus has us pinned." "The Ravenlord has the net drawn tightly," the shipmaster said doubtfully. "What's that ship at 48 degrees mark 5...

War Games: Chapter Nine- Advice

The defender's butte turned out to have a rather extensive cave system, which had been found as they were building up the fortifications on each side of the defile they were camped in. Corvus had suggested that they move their camp "indoors", leaving some scraps outside. They had settled into the cave system, with the meeting room as a chamber in the conjoining "hallway" between the two arms forming the defile. Azkellon crossed to the cave area where the Raven Guard were staying. Both the Blood Angels and the Raven Guard were on rest periods, and this gave him the opportunity he had been waiting for: a chance to speak with Pryskella about how to be the perfect bodyguard to someone as headstrong as a son of the Emperor. He took his responsibility for the safety of Lord Sanguinius very seriously, but he wasn't blind. It was clear that Lord Sanguinius chaffed at Azkellon's tactics, and he wanted to make it better. "Hello, cousin," Branne Nev...
