Golf

The people of Palmer, in the Arnold system, had agreed to come into the Imperial fold, under one condition: the Emperor had to beat their champion in a game of golf. The Palmerians revered golf as a nearly sacred activity. It was a major cornerstone of their society. The Primarchs were naturally excited. The Emperor hadn't told them much about golf, save that it had been invented a very long time ago, and that it involved hitting a ball. Konrad was very excited as there were also traps. They arrived a few days before the game was to take place. A large part of this, the Emperor explained, was to avoid a "Caddyshack" type incident. He explained that in the movie Caddyshack there was an important golf game, that happened while the groundskeeper tried to kill a gopher. The groundskeeper resorted to blowing up the majority of the course, and still failed. "These gophers sound tricky, Father," the Lion said after listening to the explanation. He and Leman were ...

Yard Saleing

The Emperor woke the Primarchs early one morning. This was unusual as it was a day off from Nova, so they normally would have been allowed to sleep in. He seemed excited, however which made the Primarchs curious. It was hard to tell seasons apart on Terra due to the pollution levels. However, there was a cyclical feel to the way the year worked that had taken the place of temperature driven seasons. "What are we doing today, Father?" Horus asked as the Primarchs gathered in the living room. "Yard saleing," the Emperor replied. Vulkan groaned. "I don't want to go on a ship again, Father," Vulkan said. "Not sailing," the Emperor said. "Yard saleing. A yard sale is where people sell off their unwanted items on their lawn." "That sounds more interesting," Corvus said. "And like it doesn't involve water," Vulkan said. Malcador entered with a slightly confused looking Valdor in tow. He looked nearly...

Earthquake

The Emperor had brought the Primarchs to the planet of Verracene to see some of the geothermal features that they had been learning about at Nova. Terra had finally become geologically stable which pleased the Emperor. However, it did mean that geothermal features, along with other geological phenomena that the Primarchs were learning about, were absent. Valdor was with them, as there had been uprisings near Verracene recently. It was unlikely that there would be problems on Verracene itself, but that possibility was still there. They were all opting to stay planet-side so they could get an early start on their tour of geysers and other things. They were staying in four rooms. The Emperor and Valdor sharing one room and six Primarchs each in the three other rooms. Two of the rooms were across the hall, but that was the best they could do and keep everyone close together. The Emperor woke up abruptly the first night they were there. Something felt wrong, and it took him a moment t...

Chopsticks and Fortunes

The Emperor was taking the Primarchs to a Xinese restaurant that was opening near the Imperial Palace. Malcador and Valdor were joining them as well. The Primarchs were looking forward to trying out chopsticks as they had never used them before. They were also hoping to watch Valdor try and use them, and that there weren't chopsticks sized for a Custodian. They arrived at the restaurant, and were escorted to a room in the back meant for large parties. This came with a surprise for the Primarchs who learned then that it was a restaurant that cooked the food at the table. Vulkan was very excited by this. Several of the others were excited to not have to wait for the food. "This will be awesome," Vulkan said. Leman nodded excitedly. "How do these things work?" Angron asked, he was holding up the chopsticks at his place. "You hold them in one hand," the Emperor explained, demonstrating how to hold them. "You then make a pinching motion with yo...
